HealthDesk African is a Pan-African Network that donate our time,energy and passion to improving and creating the world we want.

Activities

We support young people and volunteers with practical career guidance. Through mentorship, skills development, and access to professional networks, HEDA helps community members build confidence, discover opportunities, and prepare for meaningful work in health, education, and social impact.

We promote healthier mothers, children, and families. Our activities focus on health education, community sensitization, basic prevention messages, and connecting families with helpful information so they can make informed decisions about maternal and child wellbeing.

We create safe spaces for mental health awareness and support. HEDA encourages open conversations, reduces stigma, and shares practical resources that help individuals and communities understand mental health, seek help early, and care for one another with dignity.

We work toward stronger, more resilient communities. Our wellbeing activities bring together education, volunteer service, advocacy, and community outreach to support vulnerable people and encourage healthier, safer, and more inclusive everyday lives.

Our core approaches

Across all our programmes we focus on building communities that are resilient, inclusive and accountable. Our three 'core approaches' - social inclusion and gender, resilience, and social inclusion and accountability are fundamental to our volunteering for development approach, ensuring that the people we work with have the capacity to bring about change in their own lives.
